My Family N Pals is a perceptual training and personal skills tutorial program designed for use by parents or teachers working with children with developmental disabilities or autism. This application (or app) allows a parent or teacher to use an Apple iPad to teach a child to recognize the faces of family and friends. After installation, the user selects "Customize it" on the "Content Wizard" screen to replace the default pictures, verbal and text prompts. New content can be added to the app with pictures stored in the device or by capturing new pictures using the iPad's camera. The user can also change settings by selecting a theme and the number of photos displayed, showing or hiding image prompts, and turning the background music on or off. The "Play" part of the app is made up of "Training" and "Interaction" sections. The "Training" section shows pictures of family or friends one at a time, each accompanied by a verbal prompt. In the "Interaction" section, the child is asked to recognize a picture of family or friend. Each correct response is rewarded with a cheerful animation. Available languages include English, Arabic, Bokmal, Norwegian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
